Purity Doesn't Rob You of Joy—It Amplifies It

Aside from craving physical pleasure, many rush into sexual activity because they feel as though they’d be missing out if they didn’t.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Protecting the purity of your other—and, in turn, protecting yours—doesn’t rob you of physical experiences. When you fight for purity and reach the altar whole, you don’t find a pile of Wish We Hads. Instead, you find eager anticipation.

Protecting yours and your others' #purity doesn't rob you of physical experiences. #Dating #Relationships

I’m not saying that purity guarantees amazing sex (though it certainly helps). But it does signify the fulfillment of God’s perfect design, which manifests itself in ways that are so much more brilliant and deeper than the physical act of sex.

Though virgins, Brittney and I arrived on our wedding day with a list of regrets. We took our physical relationship too far, which often cast a dark cloud of guilt and pain over us.

But we never stopped fighting for purity because we knew that God’s design brings blessings, not hurts. And we can confidently say that the blessings are worth the temporary difficulty. Really worth it.

The world will tell you it’s a good thing to experience physical intimacy. It will mockingly smile and laugh, Why wait? It will say you take God too seriously. It will say that you’re missing out.

Don't buy the lies. The world is blind to the wondrous, pure design of our King. #Purity #Relationships

Don’t buy into these lies. The world is blind and deaf to the wondrous design of our King. So fight for purity. Pray for success. Protect each other as though you were guarding a lifelong investment.

Because that’s exactly what you’re guarding.

"There is a right way, there is a best way, and it is the same way: God’s way (1 Thessalonians 4:3-8). God did not give us rules just to steal all of our fun; he’s called us to holiness, and the rules are for our joy and protection."Brandon Andersen
